Class 1 Completed

It's been awhile since I posted so hey all.

Basically just a quick update. I am happy to report I finished class 1 at Animation Mentor and all in all, did better than I would of expected or hoped. I had some rough patches for awhile but got through them and am excited and motivated for Class 2. Though I am happy we have a break, I'm actually anxious to continue on in Class 2.

Congrats to all AM students also moving on. Can't wait to see what you all do next!

Update

Hi all...if anyone is reading this!

I just wanted to give a little update. I am in week 6 at AM not, things are getting more challenging all the time but in a good way. I had quite the time with the obstacle course. Real life sort of got in the way this last week and I was offered a short term temporary job which of course I took but it made me have significantly less time to work on my assignment. Starting it too late in the week to begin with didn't help either!

I worked on it till quite late Saturday night and thanks to some Peer Buddies who stay up as late as me, I pulled through!

I thought I would post my work so far, starting with the most recent.

Week 3, BBQ, Things are Heating up

Hey all,

While I do wonder if anyone is reading this, I shall continue to pose in it.

So it's Monday, July 13th which means we are in now week 3 of Class 1 for Animation Mentor. Things are already ramping up with the assignments and the amount of work we have to turn in, though i am sure it will get much, much busier. I'm trying to take this week to get into some kind of pattern, dividing my time throughout the week to best do my work.

On top of school, I'm really trying to find work again as me and my wife can't survive without two incomes. While I'm in school, I just want some basic office/admin job but am close to just taking anything I can! Possibly when I am in the latter classes I might not have to work, or at least work part-time, but right now it's not even an option.

Yesterday was the AM BBQ which I went to. I was nervous at first I would not know anyone but it turns out most of the guys from my Springboard class were there so it was nice to know some people and have them to talk to. It was great to meet you all. You know who you are.

It was also an honor I'd say to meet Bobby Beck and Shawn Kelly who I suppose I consider somewhat of celebrities at this point, even though that's probably silly. Both we're very friendly to me and since I live in the area, I was even invited to lunch sometime, which sounds awesome.

Looking for work, balancing an increased load of schoolwork, and also trying to set myself some sort of schedule while taking into account the time I will have if/when I am working will make this an interesting week.

My First Post...

Hello all who may come by here. Hopefully some people from AM at least!

This is pretty much my first attempt ever at any kind of journal. It seems popular with the students of Animation Mentor.com so I figure I will give it a try. I'm not the most social person in the world but I'm hoping that will change!

So it's the second day of Class 1 for me at am.com. I'm happy with my class, and I even got a Pixar teacher right out of the gate. Another Amer, who is local to me, got into my class which is great so we can study together and such!

Having already taken The Maya Springboard Class, I'm actually pretty well prepared for AM at the moment. I've been warned it WILL get busier, so I am enjoying my last free moments till the storm comes.
